Mobile Installer of the Year Award

Recognition for outstanding Mobile Installations

Eligibility – Any Mobile Installation employee from an EDMSSA shop in good standing with the EDMSSA. Defined as: A Mobile Installer that installs Radios, Consoles, Partition’s, Light Bars, Sirens, Cameras, Computer Docking Stations, etc. into any type of vehicle. The installer needs to work safely, efficiently and the quality of their work is very important in our selection and should be well documented for consideration.

Nomination - Must be submitted by the EDMSSA member shop’s Direct Manager of the nominated Installer. Award – The winner will receive an invitation to the EDMSSA spring meeting where they will be recognized as the association’s “Installer of the Year” and will be presented with a $1,000 check and a plaque. The EDMSSA will take care of their registration fee, room expense for 2 nights. The winner will be responsible for their travel and other expenses incurred. If the winner is unable to attend the spring meeting, a check for $1,000 and the plaque will be mailed to the installer’s shop to be presented to them by the shop owner or shop manager.

Submission - Fill out the Installer of the year form providing the committee with a short paragraph describing the installer’s innovation and resourcefulness. Describe how the installer has met the criteria listed below. The complexity of the installation is very significant. Send lots of pictures to document the quality of the work (12 Max Pictures). Customer testimonials telling the committee about the installation performed. Some installations are very unique and require a lot of customizing and innovation to complete the installation. These capabilities are essential when the committee is selecting the winner of this award.

Innovation & customization of the installation
Resourcefulness in doing the installation

If applicant has any pertinent certifications or qualifications, please submit them with nomination.

Deadline for submission is December 31st with the winner being selected by January 31st

Certified Technician of the Year Award

Recognition for outstanding Technical Performance

Eligibility – Any certified technical employee from an EDMSSA shop in good standing with the EDMSSA. Must possess TWO of the following active certifications: ETA Associate CET or higher level CET, Motorola Solutions Site Installation Practices Workshop (R-56), General Communications Technician Level 1 or Level 2 (GCT1 & GCT2), A Motorola Solutions TECHNICAL bundle certification that includes a multiple day resident or field workshop course.

Nomination - Must be submitted by the EDMSSA shop owner or service manager with the accomplishment occurring within the current calendar year.

Award – The winner will receive an invitation to the EDMSSA spring meeting where they will be recognized as the association’s “Technician of the Year” and will be presented with a $1,000 check. The EDMSSA will take care of their registration fee, room expense for 2 nights. The winner will be responsible for their travel and other expenses incurred. If the winner is unable to attend the spring meeting, a check for $1,000 will be mailed to the technicians shop to be presented to them by the shop owner or shop manager.

Submission - Deadline for submission is December 31st with the winner being selected by January 31st

Submit a copy of TWO of the following active certifications:

  • ETA Associate CET or higher level CET (maximum credit for one certification on this line)
  • Motorola Solutions Site Installation Practices Workshop (R-56)
  • General Communications Technician Level 1 or Level 2 (GCT1 & GCT2)
  • A Motorola Solutions TECHNICAL bundle certification that includes a multiple day resident or field workshop course.
