2016 Mobile Installer of the Year Award

On behalf of the EDMSSA, I am pleased to announce Javier Cedeno from New York Communications Company (NYCOMCO), Poughkeepsie, New York as the recipient of the EDMSSA Mobile Installer of the Year Award. NYCOMCO submitted a very impressive nomination in recognition of Javier’s outstanding installation performance. Here are a few of the comments made by NYCOMCO.

Javier Cedeno Installer of the Year 2016

“Javier Cedeno has been employed by NYCOMCO for over seven years and continues to amaze us with his devotion, quality of work and professionalism. Javier works as an installer specializing in all types of work ranging from, but not limited to, mobile and console installations, light bars, partitions, mobility and camera work. We are frequently complimented on Javier’s work and he is requested regularly by many customers. He is one of our most qualified installers and expresses a willingness to accept any job, eager for the challenge. Javi has the ability to work independently or with others depending on job size and one of his most impressive quality is his ability to multi-task. Often Javi is in the middle of jobs when he is interrupted and assigned to another. Without hesitation, the work is done. He is one of the first to arrive in the morning, often on the road before other employees arrive and is always looking for his next assignment.”

We will be recognizing Javier Cedeno at the EDMSSA spring meeting at the Hilton Albany, Albany, NY May 4, 2016 where he will receive his $1,000 award. Congratulations to Javier Cedeno on being selected as this year’s winner of the EDMSSA Mobile Installer of the Year.

2015 Mobile Installer of the Year Award

On behalf of the EDMSSA, I am pleased to announce Scott Balkun from Northeastern Communications, Inc. Naugatuck, CT as the recipient of the first EDMSSA Mobile Installer of the Year Award. Northeastern Communications, Inc. submitted a very impressive nomination in recognition of Scott’s outstanding installation performance. Here are a few of the comments made by Northeastern Communications Inc.

“Scott Balkun has been with Northeastern Communications for over 10 years and has consistently done excellent work. Scott was recently requested to install multiple radios into a fully finished Mobile Command Vehicle for our customer. This request included removing existing radios, installing four mobiles and a Marine radio, replacing wireless modems and routers, installing a backup camera system for the vehicle and mapping out and installing 25 antennas. Installing 25 antennas on a vehicle this size was no small task and staying safe while doing so was something Scott took special consideration to do. Other challenges with this vehicle included a riveted ceiling and sealed, finished walls as well as sufficiently powering all equipment. Powering the radios was especially difficult because the customer needed the radios wired to switch on by zone based on where the radios were mounted. Scott's ingenuity in mounting and powering the equipment was exactly what the customer was looking for and he was able to execute his installation plan cleanly and under budget for the project.”

We will be recognizing Scott Balkun the EDMSSA spring meeting at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey, PA April 29, 2015 where he will receive his $1,000 award. Congratulations to Scott Balkun on being selected as our first winner of the EDMSSA Mobile Installer of the Year.
